arms, including one set with arms extended
and one set with arms extended wielding
the power cosmic

fist pose
One of the noblest and
most tormented cosmic entities in the universe,
the Silver Surfer treasures freedom above
all else, but has often sacrificed his liberty
for the greater good. He was born Norrin
Radd on the planet Zenn-La, part of an ancient
humanoid race that had created a utopia
devoid of crime, disease, or want of any
kind. Norrin was a grimly intellectual youth,
encouraged to seek knowledge, advancement,
and achievement rather than the aimless
hedonism that dominated Zenn-Lavian society.
Norrin grew into a restless soul who longed
for challenge and struggle, immersing himself
in histories of Zenn-La's adventurous ancient
past.
Norrin's life changed forever
when a menacing alien spacecraft pierced
Zenn-La's long-neglected defense systems.
Convincing a Council of Scientists to provide
him with a spaceship, Norrin soon confronted
the invader, Galactus, who intended to consume
Zenn-La. Norrin offered to become his herald
and seek out new worlds for him in exchange
for Galactus sparing Zenn-La. Galactus agreed,
transforming Norrin into a silver-skinned,
cosmic-powered super-being. Known thereafter
as the Silver Surfer, Norrin departed Zenn-La
with Galactus.
The Surfer served Galactus
well for many years, enjoying exploring
the wonders of the universe; it became increasingly
difficult, however for Radd to find energy-rich
worlds devoid of sentient life. Over time,
Galactus subtly altered the Surfer's mind,
submerging Radd's emotions and repressing
past memories. As a result, the Surfer became
much more willing to lead Galactus to inhabited
worlds. Locating Earth despite Uatu The
Wathcher's attempts to ward him off, the
Surfer caused widespread panic and fought
the Fantastic Four. During this conflict,
the Surfer met blind sculptress Alicia Masters,
who pleaded with him to spare humanity.
His long-dormant emotions stirred by what
Alicia taught him of beauty and spirit,
the Surfer turned on Galactus and forced
him to withdraw. Erecting an energy barrier
around the planet, Galactus trapping the
Silver Surfer on Earth as a punishment for
his betrayal.

Through intricate planning

Darth Sidious rose to the office of Supreme

As the disguised Sith Master,
Palpatine had many willing servants and
aides. The greatest and most tragic of these
is Anakin Skywalker, the accomplished young
Jedi Knight. Luring him to the Dark Side
with promises of power, Palpatine planted
seeds of doubt and fostered Anakin's growing
resentment of his suppressed status within
the Jedi Order. Overwhelmed by fear and
a hunger for power, Anakin becomes Darth
Vader, the grim enforcer of Palpatine's
will. Following his new master's dark orders,
Darth Vader razed the Jedi temple, while
Palpatine enacted Order 66, killing the
many Jedi scattered across the galaxy fighting
in the Clone Wars.
The next day Palpatine
called for a special session of the Galactic
Senate. Despite his growing disfigurement,
he appeared before the assembled politicians
of the Republic and gave a stirring speech
of how he narrowly escaped a treacherous
Jedi rebellion. He assured the people of
the Republic that his resolve had not faltered
and promised to eradicate corruption from
the bloated bureaucracy, reform the government
to form a new, more powerful, more secure
institution. That day, before thunderous
applause, Palpatine declared himself Emperor
and took his seat on the Imperial Throne.

Coruscant
Clone Trooper
Militaries of Star Wars
41st Elite Corps

12 inch Figure
Manufactured by: Sideshow Collectibles
Price: US $89.99
Est. Ship Date: 2nd Qtr 2010
Limited Edition: TBD
At the time of their introduction,
the Republic clone troopers represented
the future of galactic warfare. Far superior
to the battle droid armies of the era, the
clone troopers formed the backbone of the
Republic's new military initiative that
battled against the forces of the Confederacy
of Independent Systems. So pervasive and
symbolic were they of the times, the galaxy-wide
conflict that saw their debut took its name
from their ranks: the Clone Wars. It would
be a long and bloody conflict in the years
to come, but the efficiency of the clone
trooper infantry would be proven time and
again on many scattered worlds.
The Coruscant Clone Trooper
12 inch Figure features:
- Fully articulated male
body (armored body) with 30+ points of
articulation
- Bodysuit
- Fully detailed armor
set with helmet
- Clone Trooper Carbine
Blaster
- Clone Trooper Long Rifle
- 12-inch Figure Display
Base
Identical in form, physical
prowess, stamina and mental capacity, each
of the first generations of clone troopers
were fully encased in hard white armor,
each identical face concealed behind a t-shaped
visor. Color-coded flashes on the armor
denoted rank and eventually came to signify
individual units, who often became more
customized with mission specific gear and
armor modifications. Units such as the Galactic
Marines, the Shock Troopers, the Attack
Battalion and the Star Corps had distinct
armor variations that made them stand out.
Recognizable for the grey
flashes on their armor, the 41st Elite Corps
was a legion of the 9th Assault Corps. This
legion included AT-RT drivers, scouts and
swamp troopers, among others, and specialized
in extensive patrols of alien planets, often
enduring grueling conditions while acting
as peacemakers with the native populations.
The 41st Elite operated under the command
of Jedi General Luminara Unduli and Senior
Clone Commander Gree, both of whom were
lost during the initiation of Order 66.
